Supporting local good causes: Noble's Park Fun Day

Sunday, 21 July 2019 14:19

Noble’s Park fun day will not only be a fantastic fun-filled afternoon for all the family with a whole range of free attractions, but it will also be helping to support local charities, good causes and community groups.

Organised by Douglas Borough Council, sponsored by the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company and supported by 3FM, the event will be hosting some 40 car boot stalls, while Douglas Scouts will be manning a stand, Manx Wild Bird Aid will be selling bird houses and running a tombola and newly formed Manx charity Huntington’s Disease Isle of Man will be organising family games.

Newly branded mental health and psychological wellbeing charity MCH/IsleListen will be offering support and advice as well as running table-top games and fun activities for all the family and Relay For Life Isle of Man will be promoting its work as it looks to reach its £1,000,000 fundraising milestone in its 10th anniversary year.

Regeneration and Community Committee Chair Councillor Stephen Pitts said: ‘While Noble’s Park Fun Day is all about having a great family afternoon out, it’s also an opportunity to perform a valuable community function, by helping to lend greater visibility to a whole raft of local charities all working hard to transform people’s lives. I would urge everyone to “save the date” – Saturday August 3 – and come to the Fun Day to have a great time and support these most deserving of causes.’

Douglas Borough Council’s Noble’s Park Fun Day is on Saturday August 3 from 1 to 5pm. For more information contact Christina Cullen, 696311.
