Search is on for Douglas Customer Service Champion 2020

The search is on to find the Douglas Customer Service Champion 2020.

 

Voting is now open in Douglas Town Centre Management’s challenge to find who provides the best customer service in Douglas town centre.

To vote for your favourite, visit Douglas Town Centre Management’s Facebook page to view the shortlist of nine people who go above and beyond, then like the photo of the person you believe to be the best customer service professional.

 

The one with the most likes when the competition closes on Monday, February 17 at 10am will take the title Douglas Customer Service Champion 2020 and a trophy. In addition, the winner, runner-up and third placed will receive £100, £50 and £25 respectively in the form of vouchers to be redeemed at a town centre retail outlet of their choice.

 

Each of the nominees have explained what customer service means to them.

 

Billy Cubbon – Venture Outdoors

‘Make eye contact and make a customer feel welcome. Give the customer time to look around and know what you are selling. Give advice and maybe offer a second choice but never be pushy. Make conversation with your customer and have a bit of banter. If a customer goes out happy, they will come back.’

 

Dom Howard – H Samuel

‘Create memories that will last forever.’

 

Joanna Zabicka- Flannels

‘I love my job at Flannels and particularly enjoy introducing and sharing the fashions and designer products to our customers. Customer service comes naturally to me and making people happy fulfils my day.’

 

Phoebe Robinson- Dorothy Perkins

‘I think that good customer service is when you listen to your customers’ needs so that they get what they want and look forward to shopping with Dorothy Perkins again.’. 

 

Olivia Valerga - Top Shop

‘Customer service means to me, going above and beyond to make the customer’s day.’

 

Kris Taggart – Burton

 ‘Customer service for me is going out of your way for a customer and making them feel appreciated and special. Speak to people as a normal person, not like a robot.’

 

Jo Tate – Boots

‘Great customer services is creating friendships with your customers and caring for them like you would your  friends. I want to provide them with a great experience and make them feel special.’

 

Tracey Pilgrim – Marks & Spencer

‘Make sure I can make people smile and ensuring that they get their offers.’

 

Ellie Bridges – TK Maxx

‘Customer first, each and every time. Giving great customer service means that the customer gets what they want and will come back. Also, service with a smile is very important and a must.’

 

Douglas town centre manager Oliver Cheshire said: ‘We’re in our fourth year now of running the competition, which provides an opportunity to recognise and celebrate great service in a great town.

 

‘Retailers are having to cope with difficult trading conditions and relentless online competition. But the internet browser can never be a substitute for a quality “bricks and mortar” face-to-face shopping experience, one that engages shoppers and makes them want to return for more.

 

‘Our ambition at Douglas Town Centre Management is to create a welcoming and vibrant town centre, and people who give consistent good customer service can be a powerful force in helping to realise that goal.’
