Civic reception for Special Olympics Isle of Man

On Tuesday December 4th 2012 His Worship the Mayor Councillor David Ashford JP hosted a reception for Special Olympics Isle of Man team members at Douglas town hall.

Special Olympics Isle of Man offers a lifetime of learning through sport and benefits individuals of all ages and ability levels, from those with low motor abilities to highly skilled athletes.

 

Team members will be representing the Isle of Man at the Special Olympics World Winter Games in Pyeonchang, South Korea that begin on January 29th, 2013.

 

During the reception His Worship took the opportunity to present outgoing chairman Mo Sherring with a Douglas Borough Council plaque in recognition of her service and to welcome incoming chairman George Campbell.
