Held over the weekend of Friday September 28th to Sunday September 30th last year the event saw councillors and officers of Douglas Borough Council, lead body for the campaign, joined by schools, volunteer groups, local businesses and private individuals to target many of the Island’s litter hot-spots.

His Worship said the campaign had proved ‘a fantastic event’ that attracted more than 900 volunteers, resulting in some 1.9 tonnes of litter collected and he praised the efforts, in particular, of the many schools that had participated in the campaign.

Below are just some of the many volunteers groups and individuals who supported the Big Tidy Up.
