There’s been a tsunami of tinsel and a blitzkrieg of baubles in Douglas town centre as traders vie for votes in the Best Dressed Business competition.
Organised by Douglas Development Partnership the aim of the competition, says town centre manager Michelle O’Malley, is ‘To bring some festive fabulousness to the main shopping area.’
In the independent retailer category, sponsored by Gallery magazine and Manx Radio, there’s the opportunity to win a full-page advertising space in the magazine plus a year’s free advertising with Manx Radio, while in the chain store category, the winner will win a donation to their nominated charity, sponsored by Douglas Development Partnership.
Ms O'Malley continued: ‘So now the businesses have done their festive bit, it’s up to the public to vote for their favourite. Photographs of all the contenders’ efforts are on our Facebook page where people can cast their votes for the most cracking Christmas creations.’
Voting closes 5pm Friday December 20th and the winners will be revealed on Saturday December 21st.
