Monday becomes the new Thursday when stores in Douglas stay open late on Monday December 23rd.
‘With many shops opting to stay open to around 9pm on the 23rd people - especially those working that day - will have a more relaxed opportunity to do their last-minute shopping rather than having to cope with the crowds on Christmas Eve,’ says town centre manager Michelle O’Malley.
‘We’re also hoping to have some street performers adding to the atmosphere and a number of shops that evening will be offering discounts…after all, it is the season of goodwill.’
