Candidate withdraws from Murrays Ward bye-election

Keith Edward Teare of 18 Malvern Road, Douglas has withdrawn his candidacy to stand for election in the Murrays Ward bye-election on Thursday June 16.

 

Therefore, in accordance with the Local Elections Act 1986, the two remaining candidates nominated to contest the bye-election to elect one Member to Douglas Borough Council to Murrays Ward are:

Falk Horning, Flat 4, 11 Woodville Terrace, Douglas, (independent);

Kieran Anthony Derek Lavery23 Springfield Avenue, Douglas, (semi-retired taxi driver).

 

Polling stations, open from 8am to 8pm, will be at:

• Albany Polling District: Masonic Hall, Woodbourne Road;

• Garden City Polling District: MacFadyen Hall, Tromode Road;

• Somerset Polling District: St Ninian’s High School.

 

Voters are advised that Mr Teare’s decision to stand down will not be reflected in the list of candidates’ names on the ballot papers. The Council can, however, confirm Mr Teare’s formal withdrawal from the candidacy.
