Council Meetings

ADouglas Council council group 2018-052 MediumThe Council meets monthly in public at the Town Hall in Ridgeway Street.


Copies of the agenda are made available and members of the public are welcome to attend and observe Council business being conducted.

 

Meetings of the Executive Committee, Housing and Property Committee, Regeneration and Community Committee, and Environmental Services  Committee are held monthly. The Pensions Committee meets formally at least six times a year, the Standards Committee when required. These meetings are not open to the public. 

 

Meetings of the full Council reflect the history and traditions of our Borough. The Mayor presides at meetings and acts as the interpreter of the rules of procedure. The Mayor controls the meeting and regulates the debate, and in doing so, must act impartially. The Mayor has a vote and may have a casting (or second) vote when necessary.

 

Public Council Meeting upcoming dates

The meetings are held on the second Wednesday of every month, (excluding September) in the Council Chamber and start at 14:30. (The Council Chamber is on the first floor of the Town Hall and is served by a lift).
