Tuesday September 13 2016 saw His Worship the Mayor, Councillor John Skinner JP, extend a welcome to Rally Isle of Man competitors from Japan.

Shinobu Kitani, together with his wife Hiroko Kitani, finished 86th overall in their Mini Cooper S. The couple were one of four Japanese crews competing in the rally, all in Minis, and all finished,
Their cars are shipped to the UK in a container and the competitors fly to the UK to collect their vehicles, then travel by ferry to the Isle of Man.
