American guests left 'honoured and captivated' by visit to Douglas

Through links first established by former councillor and Mayor of Douglas, the late Dot Pitts,  Faryl and Daniel Oschin from Westlake Village, California, visited Douglas town hall on Friday, July 27, a visit hosted by the Deputy Mayor, Councillor Ian Clague MBE, and arranged by Councillor Debbie Pitts. Joining the guests was Councillor Ritchie McNicholl who, while serving as Mayor of Douglas, hosted a visit for friends of Mr and Mrs Oschin, who subsequently shared their experiences  with the Oschins, sparking their interest to come to the Isle of Man.

In their note of thanks Mr and Mrs Oschin referred to the Isle of Man as 'enchanting' and 'magical' and that the visit to the town hall had left them 'humbled and inspired'.
