Mrs Milne, whose father was George Higgins MHK, was surrounded by flowers, friends and family - and cakes - for an afternoon tea party at which the Mayor congratulated Mrs Milne on becoming 100 years young and thanked all the care staff for their dedication to all the residents.

In her reply Mrs Milne, who that day had received a congratulatory message and card from Her Majesty the Queen, said having His Worship attend her party 'made it all the more special'.
