Mayor welcomes French naval crews

His Worship the Mayor of Douglas Councillor Stan Cain JP has welcomed the commandants of three of the French Navy’s training ships (bateaux-écoles) Eglantine, Glycine and Jaguar, visiting the Isle of Man on navigational training exercises together with the Isle of Man French Honorary Consul Mrs Annie Nédellec.

Captain Dominique Le Pen, (Eglantine), Major Nicolas Schrack, (Glycine) and Lieutenant Arthur-François Debieuvre (Jaguar) met with the Mayor, exchanged gifts and enjoyed a tour of the Council chamber.
