The Council's 'Do Douglas Proud, Bin Your Gum' campaign has begun and aims to send out the message that dropping chewing gum in a public place is a littering offence attracting a £50 fixed penalty.

Douglas Borough Council’s strengthened enforcement operation is already having a positive impact on improving the town’s environment after a successful prosecution was brought against a dog owner who failed to remove his dog’s faeces from a back lane in Douglas.

Waste Services is a function of the Environment and Regeneration department and is responsible for domestic and commercial refuse collection – including kerbside recycling collection – and general street cleaning throughout the Borough of Douglas.
