Douglas Carnival organisers welcome Manx Radio as official media partner

Manx Radio is to be the official media partner for Douglas Carnival, joint organisers Douglas Borough Council and Douglas Development Partnership have confirmed.

 

DavidChristian MediumCouncil Leader Councillor David Christian MBE JP (pictured) said: ‘The Council has long been committed to partnership working; it is a strategy that not only inspires new ideas and creativity but also pools expertise. Douglas Carnival is an ambitious event that has the power to bring tangible commercial benefits to the town and, of course, to provide a spectacular day out for all the family. We are therefore pleased that Manx Radio shares in our aspirations for Douglas Carnival and welcome them as official media partner.’

 

Town centre manager Michelle O’Malley added: ‘Manx Radio has been a long-time supporter of the Partnership’s aims to revitalise Douglas, so we are confident this collaboration will contribute to ensuring the success of Douglas Carnival.’

 

 

Manx Radio’s business director John Marsom said: ‘Manx Radio has followed the progress of town centre regeneration being driven by the Council and Douglas Development Partnership. Together they are making great strides in ensuring the Island’s capital is the place to be for business and pleasure. As the Island’s leading broadcaster, one with an abiding commitment to the community, we are looking forward to playing our part in supporting Douglas Carnival in our role as official media partner.’
