Refuse Collection

Douglas Borough Council provides services for domestic, commercial and bulk refuse collection as a function of the Environment and Regeneration department.

Douglas Refuse Collection (households)Update - 7 January 2021

Household waste collections will continue as normal.

We ask that in circumstances where a member of the household has tested positive, is symptomatic or awaiting test results for Covid, their personal waste is double bagged and kept separate for 48 hours before placing in the refuse bin.

Finally, our crews would be grateful if you would please sanitise your wheelie bin handle, after placing out for collection.

We apologise for any inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.

Many thanks.

Waste advice for those households that have tested positive or are symptomatic and awaiting test results for COVID-19

Personal waste (such as used tissues) and disposable cleaning cloths can be stored securely within disposable rubbish bags. These bags should be placed into another bag, tied securely and kept separate from other waste. This should be put aside for at least 48 hours before being put in your usual external household waste bin.

Other household waste can be disposed of as normal.

Please ensure wheeled bins (with lids closed) are positioned at the curtilage of the property before 6am on day of collection.
